How L really died

L: hmm... can there even BE justice in a world without cake? ... can there even be cake without justice? ... what if justice IS cake and cake is really justice? but no... wait... what if... the cake is really a lie? What if Kira wants me to take the cake so that I cannot have justice... No... that wouldn't be like Kira.... Kira would think a step ahead of that... Kira would disguise justice as a cake so that I would take justice instead of the cake when justice is really a lie... but wait! Is justice really a lie? What if the justice I've been pursuing my whole life is really a lie and all there is cake? That wouldn't be good... but what if the cake was really justice and justice was the truth... I'm feeling awfully uncertain... *chews thumb* but then that's exactly how Kira would want me to feel isn't it? I must be 100% certain before I can act... To be 100% certain I must have cake! ...but how can I know if the cake isn't a lie?
